Privacy Policy
How Faruza handles your personal information. Last updated 7 August 2026.
Who this covers
Faruza is a delivery service operating in Sri Lanka. This policy covers the Faruza website and applies to everyone who uses it: customers placing orders, stores selling through us, and riders delivering.
Stores and riders on Faruza see only what they need to complete your order. They are not permitted to use your details for anything else.
What we collect, and why
We only collect what an order needs. Nothing here is optional decoration.
Name, email and phone
To create your account, sign you in, and let the store or rider reach you about your order.
Delivery addresses
To deliver to you. Saved addresses exist so you don't retype them; you can delete any of them at any time.
Orders and their contents
To prepare and deliver what you asked for, show you your order history, and settle payouts with the store and rider.
Ratings and reviews you leave
To show other customers what a store is like. Your rating is shown with your name against that store.
Your Google account name and email, if you sign in with Google
To identify your account. We receive only your basic profile — never your Google password, contacts, or anything else in your Google account.
We do not track your live location, and we do not build advertising profiles, sell your data, or run third-party advertising or analytics trackers on this site.
Payment information
Orders are currently cash on delivery, so we hold no card details at all.
If card payment is switched on in future it will be handled by PayHere, a licensed Sri Lankan payment gateway. Your card number would be entered on PayHere's own page and never reaches Faruza's systems — we would receive only a payment reference and whether the payment succeeded.
Who your information is shared with
Your details are shared only with the people and services that make an order work:
The store you ordered from
Your name, phone number, delivery address and what you ordered — so they can prepare it and contact you if something is wrong.
The rider delivering it
Your name, phone number and delivery address, so they can find you. Riders see this only for orders assigned to them.
Supabase
Our database and sign-in provider. Your account and order data are stored there.
Vercel
Hosts this website and serves it to your browser.
Only if you choose to sign in with Google.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone, for any purpose.
How long we keep it
Account details are kept while your account is open. Orders are kept after that, because they are also the store's sales record and the rider's earnings record.
When you delete your account, your name, phone number, email, saved addresses and sign-in details are removed. Past orders remain as anonymous transactions with no customer and no address attached — the sale survives, the person does not.
Your choices
You can, at any time and without asking us:
- Change your name or phone number on your profile page.
- Add or remove saved delivery addresses.
- Review or change a rating you left on a delivered order.
- Delete your account entirely, from the bottom of your profile page. This cannot be undone.

Keeping it safe
The site is served over HTTPS, and access to data is enforced by the database itself rather than only by the app — so one customer cannot read another's orders, and a store cannot see orders that are not theirs. Passwords are stored hashed by our sign-in provider and are never visible to us.
No system is perfectly secure. Please use a password you do not use anywhere else, and tell us immediately if you think someone else has your account.
Children
Faruza is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them. If you believe a child has an account with us, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. Continuing to use Faruza after a change means you accept the updated policy.
